Lucky enough to be hosted by the fabulous wine bar, Diogenes The Dog in Elephant and Castle, we're given the space to explore our identities, emotions and perspective by delving into three poetry exercises. You will leave with at least three new poems so, even if you haven't thought of a rhyming couplet since you were in school or you're suffering from a little writers block, we can unlock your poet, all over an incredible glass of wine!
There are only 15 spaces available for the workshop as this gives the optimum time for everyone to share and practice with a mic.. It's a nurturing environment which can help to heal a lot of hang ups and fear surrounding poetry and performance. There really are no rules, briefs are set and hopefully links to new stimulus will get your pen in gear.
At Sip + Rhyme, we believe that everyone can write a good poem but no one will write a poem like you.
We each have a viewpoint and when you're living in times like these, we could all do with a little more time to breath and actually listen to ourselves and others.
LAUNCHING A WOMAN'S ROAR
Celebrating female voices in poetry, globally and throughout history. There is too much to cover in one setting so Joly Licks wants to programme a series of workshops around this theme encouraging female writers to come and read, male writers to learn more about the female perspective through poetry. Get in touch if you know a good venue or you want to read!
good old fashioned exercise books and some poetry postcards hand produced for guest poets.
