Fausta Joly - poet / performer / produCER

London-based poet and performer - known for her dulcet tones, unique rhythms, and giving just as much attention to the macro as the micro! 

From funny observations like the beauty of a woman eating a hard-boiled egg on the bus at midnight, finding Glitter in a Gutter to painting a lyrical tapestry of female creativity with her poem Wo/Art.

Performing her poetry since 2018 - notable credits include: Brighton Poetry Festival, the Purcell Room at the Royal Albert Hall, (2021),  EFG London Jazz Festival, (2021-22),  Ronnie Scotts, (2019), HOME Manchester (2020), Sub Tei Gallery Berlin, (2020), We Out Here, (2021-23) and for Writerz and Scribez. 

Currently working on a poetry sound EP with musician/producer Genevieve Dawson.  

As well as poeting and performing, she runs her own arts events company, Joly Licks and is a co-Host for Hammer & Tongue, Poetry Slam - Hackney. 

Proudest moment to date: being the featured poet and consultant for Transient Light Tarot deck with artist, friend, and creator of the deck - Ari Wisner. Now published worldwide with Hay House Publishing.

Aside from Joly Licks, there are a couple fantastic poetry nights that have called upon Fausta's hosting talents: 

As a finalist of Hammer & Tongue Hackney, in 2019 she became familiar with the hosts and, during lockdown - was asked to become a team member. She's been hosting with them ever since! Catch her 2nd Thursday, every month at The Book Club in Shoreditch. (You can even hear her uplifting tones at the head of  Lemn Sisay radio show Slam Poets ep.)

Rebel Soapbox - meeting Jenny Foulds, and seeing a female led night, filled Fausta with so much joy and she instantly recognised that Jenny had something she wanted to be apart of. When Jenny advertised for a helping hand at her nights, Fausta leapt at the chance! Rebel Soapbox is held in Brighton, every month - currently at the Brunswick Pub.
